For summer 2007, MSC Orchestra and MSC Armonia will be cruising the Eastern Mediterranean, with MSC Rhapsody and MSC Opera joining them in September. With these four ships in the region, MSC Cruises offers six different itineraries as well as a selection of exciting excursions through the end of October.
 
Guests who book by July 31, 2007 can take advantage of MSC Cruises? ?Best Fare, Best Room? promotion, which provides them with the best stateroom available within their desired category at the time of booking. As an added bonus, North American residents who place a reservation need only place a $100 deposit per person, based on double occupancy. Prices vary by sail date and category.
 
MSC Orchestra departs every Saturday from Venice for: Italy, Greece, Turkey and Croatia (8 days/7 nights). Ports of call include Venice, Bari, Katakolon, Izmir, Istanbul and Dubrovnik before returning to Venice with departures through Oct. 27. Sunday departures are also available from Bari. Prices from $995 per person.
 
Among the excursions available are:
-         Katakolon: Visit the archaeological site at Olympia (birthplace of the Olympic Games), the Temple of Zeus, the gymnasium and amphitheater before returning to Katakolon for a typical folklore show.
-         Izmir: Visit exciting Ephesus (built in the Hellenic-Romanic era), the Library of Celsus, the Templum of Adriano and the Odeon theatre.
 
MSC Armonia will depart every Sunday from Venice on the following itinerary: Italy, Greece and Croatia (8 days/7-nights). Ports of call include Venice, Bari, Santorini, Mykonos, Piraeus, Corfu and Dubrovnik before returning to Venice, with weekly departures through Oct. 28. Departures are also available from Bari. Prices from $995 per person.
 
Excursions available on this itinerary include the following:
-          Santorini: Tour Oia, a traditional island village with tiny intertwined passageways and blue domed chapels, which are typical of the Cycladic Islands. Then marvel at the spectacular panoramic views across the bay.
-          Corfu: Visit the Achillion Palace, built for the Austrian Empress Elizabeth (known as 'Sissi', lavishly decorated and surrounded by gorgeous gardens.
-          Dubrovnik: Tour the historic town center with its cathedral and main street lined with artisans? shops.
 
MSC Rhapsody offers two itineraries from Genoa. The first Itinerary explores Italy, Egypt and Greece (12 days/11 nights) ? Genoa, Salerno, Alexandria in Egypt, Rhodes, Piraeus, Katakolon, Messina, Naples and return to Genoa; departures are Saturday, Sept. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 14. Prices from $1,195 per person.
 
The ship's second itinerary explores Italy, Greece, Ukraine, Turkey (12 days/11 nights) , Genoa, Salerno, Piraeus, Yalta, Odessa, Istanbul, Messina, Naples before returning to Genoa. Departures are Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Wednesday, Oct. 3. Prices from $1,245 per person.
 
The following are examples of excursions available on these itineraries:
-          Alexandria in Egypt: A tour of ancient Egypt, visiting the Pyramids (including the largest. Cheops), Chefren and Micerino, as well as the Sphinx and the Museum of Cairo.
-          Pireaus: Visit the Acropolis and Parthenon. Enjoy the collections in the National Archaeological Museum and then relax along the walkways of Plaka.
-         Istanbul: Tour of the city that straddles two continents. Visit the Blue Mosque and Cathedra of St. Sofia, then barter for a Turkish carpet.
 
MSC Opera offers two itineraries in the Eastern Mediterranean; the first explores Italy, Greece, Croatia (8 days/7nights). Cruising from Genoa, ports of call include Ancona, Gythion, Piraeus, Corfu and Split before returning to Genoa. Departures are every Saturday from Sept. 15 through Nov. 10.  Prices from $895 per person.
 
A short second itinerary departs Wednesday, Sept. 12 and covers Italy, Montenegro and Croatia (4 days/3 nights) - Ports of call include Venice, Bari, Kotor and Split.  Prices from $325 per person.
 
With the arrival of MSC Opera in the northern Italian port of Trieste in September 2007, Trieste will become a new home port for MSC Cruises.
 
Excursion offerings include:
-          Gythion: Enjoy a panoramic tour visiting Monemvasia, the tiny citadel in the Peloponnese by the sea with this Byzantine Church of Christ and St. Sofia. Then onto Sparta, one of the most beautiful ancient cities with visits to the Acropolis and Sanctuary of Athena.
-          Split: Visit the spectacular and ancient part of the city built along the Roman palace of Diocletian, built in the late 3rd and early 4th centuries.
 
Rates are based on MSC Cruises' "Best Fare, Best Room" promotion. Pricing for this promotion has been simplified into categories of interior, oceanview, balcony, etc., depending on the ship.  All prices reflect interior accommodations and are USD, cruise only, per person, double occupancy; government fees and taxes are additional.
