June 5, 2007

Majestic America Line reports that the Empress of the North will soon relocate to Cascade General shipyard in Portland, Ore. to complete repairs. The ship is being moved from Alaska Ship and Dry Dock in Ketchikan, AK due to the yard?s prior obligation to another repair project. Additionally, the company has announced that the June 30 departure has been canceled. The ship is expected to return to service on July 7.

Majestic America Line is in the process of contacting guests regarding the canceled June sailing. Guests scheduled to travel on these dates are being offered the opportunity to move to another 2007 Alaska sailing, as well as reimbursement for all related incidental charges and a 25 percent credit toward a future cruise. Alternatively, the company is offering a full refund for any guest on the affected sailings who choose to cancel their reservations, and will protect travel agent commissions accordingly.
