This cam is the strangest...  You should be able to see the ships passing to and from Gatun locks in the upper right.  That's where the old French channel divides from the channel to Gatun.  But what passes through there has no relation to what is showing on AIS.  Ships in Agua Clara are in real time, but some ships pass that area without ever being seen on camera, Fantasy is one, and others I see going by are nowhere near there on AIS.

The Fantasy met with a wee bit of misfortune at Gatun Locks yesterday.   Just after the screen shots posted above she had an allision with the east side wall.  Looks to me it occurred while moving from the upper level to the middle level.  There is a  short video someone posted which I found on a Mobile TV station.

Saw that mentioned on CC.  Looks like it might be Serenity area, starboard by the stairs...  CJ

Maybe I can put the camera in perspective.  What you are seeing in the shot of the Maersk container ship is Gatun Lake just a little south of Gatun Locks and Gatun Dam.  The south approach wall of Gatun Locks would be a little to the right just outside the frame of the picture.  Below is a picture I took from the control tower late last year, essentially I just panned to the right.  I notated the approach wall along with the dam and spillway.

[

The next shot is from the same location looking north towards the Caribbean.  The old French Canal would be on the starboard side of the ship in original channel moving south towards the Locks.  If you see that white speck just above the tree tops on the middle left side of the  picture, that is a lighthouse that would be directly opposite of the Locks.  Hope this helps.
