This was posted on Facebook bt Linda Coffman who owns Cruise Diva .

Celebrity Millennium is bound for Freeport in the Bahamas where the propulsion pod that caused its problems will be replaced. Also headed to Grand Bahama Shipyard from Europe is a new 250-ton Rolls-Royce Mermaid pod to replace the defective one.

Scheduled to enter the shipyard's dock on Sept. 6th for what is expected to be a 78-hour process to replace the pod, Celebrity Millennium should be ready to leave on Sept. 11th and sail to San Diego, again with only crew on board.

According to sailwx.info the Millennium is off Panama's Azuero Peninsula and could arrive for a transit tomorrow, (Sept. 3) assuming she has a slot then.

I figure she will probably do a night transit.  Cheaper, no passengers...I thought tonight at the earliest.  CJ

Barring any special arrangements or circumstances the Millennium won't do a night transit.  Ships that size are required to clear all the locks during daylight.  There are a number of areas where ships over 100' beam can't meet other ships, the Gaillard Cut is the main culprit however.  Even if they were able to do a night transit, there would not be any break on the tolls.  They are already getting a "break" on the tolls as they are only being charged $108/passenger berth as opposed to the regular $134/passenger berth because there are no revenue passengers on board.  Whatever savings that may have provided are probably wiped out because they probably had to bid for a transit booking.  Otherwise they would have had to just wait their turn.
