P&O Cruises awarded favourite large cruise line

26 Oct 2011 - P&O Cruises continued its award winning streak as it was last night voted "Favourite large cruise line" in the Telegraph Travel Awards 2011. The award was voted for by 23,000 readers of the Daily and Sunday Telegraph.

In the past six weeks P&O Cruises has been recognised in several awards ceremonies, voted for by both consumers and travel agents.

P&O Cruises managing director, Carol Marlow, said: “It is wonderful to receive another confirmation that are pleasing British cruisers, demonstrating to both our passengers and our travel agent colleagues why we are Britain’s favourite cruise line. Not only are we winning awards for our overall performance, but also for specific elements of our service, such as our website, shore excursions and our wine on board. But we are not complacent, and will continue to listen to our passengers, to make sure we deliver the holiday of a lifetime to all our passengers".

• Star mainstream cruise company - Travel Bulletin Star Awards
• Best cruise website –Travolution Awards
• Best in class (silver and bronze) – Porta Palo Red and Rose 2010 vintage house wine, International Wine and Spirits Competition
• Environmental Initiative Award – Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards

The Seatrade Insider Environmental Initiative Award was won specifically for Carnival UK’s Green World Tours, a programme of charitable and responsible tourism based shore experiences designed to support the towns and communities visited as well as giving the passenger a unique experience ashore.

The award is given to the company / organisation / individual who has made a notable contribution to advance any environmental aspect of cruising.
