Situation in Egypt / Tunisia - Costa Cruises changes its itineraries

February 2011 -Given the recent events and current situation in Egypt, which caused an unexpected and uncontrolled number of cancellations for the Costa Allegra Jan. 31 and Costa Marina Feb. 3 cruises, only some of which were announced in advance by travel agencies, Costa Cruise Lines is changing its Red Sea program and providing new information about how existing bookings will be dealt with.

Costa Marina

Red Sea cruises departing on Feb. 10, Feb.17 and the Red Sea Grand Cruise departing Feb. 24, 2011, are cancelled.

All guests booked on the Feb. 10 and 17 Red Sea cruises, may receive a credit in the amount paid on the following departures:
- Costa Allegra, Feb. 14 or 21, 2011, on the new itinerary (Jordan, Israel)
- Costa Pacifica, Feb. 19, March 2, 13 or 24, 2011, 10-day Mediterranean itinerary (Israel, Greece, Turkey)

All guests booked on Feb. 24, 2011, Red Sea Grand Cruise may receive a credit in the amount paid, on the following departures:
- Costa Allegra Red Sea Grand Cruise, March 28, 2011, departing from Aqaba (Jordan)
- Costa Luminosa Grand Cruise from United Arab Emirates, March 21, 2011, departing from Dubai (UAE)
- Costa Deliziosa Grand Cruise from United Arab Emirates, April 3, 2011, departing from Dubai (UAE)
- Costa Romantica Grand Cruise from Indian Ocean, April 3, 2011, departing from Port Louis (Mauritius)
- Other available spring 2011 departures for Mediterranean itineraries on Costa Concordia, Costa Magica or Costa Serena

IMPORTANT: BY NO LATER than 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, all guests booked on the above-mentioned Costa Marina Red Sea cruises have to choose either a credit on one of the proposed departures or the possible use of a voucher for another 2011 cruise. Alternatively, guests can ask for a refund of the amount paid.

Costa Allegra

All the Costa Allegra Red Sea cruises are confirmed for the new itinerary comprising Jordan and Israel.

IMPORTANT: BY NO LATER than 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, all booked guests for the Feb. 14, 21 and 28, and March 7, 14 and 21, 2011 Costa Allegra Red Sea cruises, or the March 28, 2011, Red Sea Grand Cruise will have to choose either a credit for the same amount, on one of the proposed departures listed below or the possible use of a voucher for another 2011 cruise. Alternatively, guests can ask for a refund of the amount paid.

Available departures for the credit:
- Costa Pacifica Feb. 19, March 2, 13 or 24, 2011, 12-day Mediterranean itinerary (Israel, Greece, Turkey)
- All Spring 2011 departures on Mediterranean itineraries of Costa Concordia, Costa Magica or Costa Serena.

No confirmation is required for guests who want to keep their booking on the new Jordan-Israel itinerary. Flights are confirmed according to details already shared.

If no choice is expressed regarding possible credit or refund by the date indicated (Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011), the company will apply the standard contract conditions.

Grand Cruises

Costa Cruise Lines confirms that for Costa Allegra Red Sea Grand Cruise, Costa Luminosa and Costa Deliziosa Grand Cruise from United Arab Emirates and the Costa Romantica Grand Cruise from Indian Ocean, the one day calls at Sharm el Sheik, Safaga and Alexandria (Egypt) have been cancelled and replaced by a two-day call at the renowned Israeli city of Eilat. This call will allow passengers to visit Jerusalem as well as the ancient Masada fortress and the Dead Sea.

Any cancellation for the above listed grand cruises will be handled according to the conditions of the contract.
