It is a very nice cam.

Look at Hi Res Cam for a easy way to see the new cam.

Since the link is a .jpg it is easy to save.
Also note that you can use a program such as IrfanView to make the photos smaller to post.

What a fantastic image. It certainly makes the others look bad. Let's hope they upgrade all of them.

Is there a Mac user out there who has worked out how to save this type of image for postng here!

Any help would be geatly appreciated.

I agree the cams are great.

The real problem I saw today was how slow the cams loaded. I suspect that the extra bandwidth needed has not been allocated yet. I am not sure what their plan is but maybe a seperate server for the new cams would be in order.

I can't imagine how slow they will be on days of more than 2 ships.

Try this link:
http://webcams.pancanal.com/webcam/hd-miraflores.jpg

It is .jpg which is easier to save and use than the .png extension in use. It is still the HD Res Cam but in a easier form to use. The only problem is you have to refresh the page to get it to update. It also makes it easier to save the photo because it isn't updating every 2 seconds or so.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for your reply. However I am still having problems trying to post an image from the new cam. Can you please confirm what formats can be used to post and suggested size.

I see  the attachment you have posted is a .png file but I thought you were saying you could not upload a .png file?

Did I not understand this correctly?

I am getting as confused as you are Phil. The "get info" shows that it is a .jpeg file but when posted, I agree it has a .png is shown below the image.

Ok were do I go from here. From what you have seen should I be able to upload the image to the group? If so why do I keep getting the error message?

I am going to try something here. I am trying to figure out where it goes wrong.

You can save the photo to your computer here correct?

If so do you then resize it so it is 128 KB or less in size?

Once you have resized it and want to post it here one should select the forum you want to post it in then then at the bottom of the box click "Additional Options" which will bring up additional choices. Below the choices one should notice Attach:
One should then click the Browse button and find the folder that you saved your photo to. Click on the photo you want to post which should now show up in the Attach box.
Click post and it should post you photo along with your post.

The question is where does it go wrong?

Thanks Phil for your prompt reply. I have done exactly as you said. However I think I may have discovered the problem so will try again. If it works I will report back.

This image was downloaded in the early hours Panamanian time. anyone know what they are doing?

At last. The problem was that the file that I resized was entitled "unknown image.jpg" as default. When I changed the title to "test.jpg" it worked.

Thats that problem solved. Thanks to all who contributed.
