Title: Miraflores Visitors Observation area
Post by: Luis on October 16, 2011, 01:24:36 PM
I have noticed in the past few days no visitors to the upper deck of the building. I dont know if they are reparing the place but is unusual not to see people looking at the operations at Miraflores on a Sunday afternoon with good weather. If anyone has information on what is going on with that building, let me and the rest know. ???

Here is a glimpse of the visitors observation building from the Coral Princess cam.

If my eyes are right,I see people at the lower area of the building. If that is the case, the only areas closed for repairs are the two upper floors and the upper deck.

I have asked about three times what they are doing, but still no answer. If I ever find out I'll let you know. I hear about the cams, but that's all. C.C.13

Is interesting that an army of workers have been there even after the daylight goes away. I think they want to finish whatever they are doing before Christmas or New Years day.

The visitors area seen from the Crystal Serenity cam. I dream that sometime in the future, they install a cam that gets the front of the building to see the tourists there.

A look at how are things progressing. It looks like they are close to the phase of installing the roof to cover the observation deck.

Why Linda? That roof they are putting there is not the safest one?

I think Linda is suggesting it is metal and lightening tends to like metal......

Just a guess....

That is true Linda and Phil about the zinc panels being a dangerous atraction to lightening. I guess throwing cement was going to cost many more $$$. But the cost of life lost if something god forbidding happens there is not counted on dolars. :'(

There are plenty of very tall light posts around. I wouldn't worry about lightening.

I was just making a joke about it, sorry you all took it that way. But I still wouldn't want to be there during a storm. I am scared of lighting, we got hit once.  C.C.13

Didn't mean to get too serious either, Linda.
I remember my house getting hit when I was a kid in Africa. It's very scary.

Daylight view. As Linda pointed out,the main work appears to be during the night hours, maybe to avoid the high temperatures that the tropical area where Panama is located bring.

The camera is not panning at this moment (10:11 PM AST in Puerto Rico) but I saw workers up there installing more panels.

All the panels of roof have been installed. Now,they will work on the finishing touches of the observation deck. As I said earlier,I wish sometime in the future,a cam is installed on the front of that building to see the visitors as we will not see them now.
