Regent Seven Seas Voyager October 3rd Voyage Cancelled due to POD problems

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is having problems with one of its pod propulsion units on Seven Seas Voyager. A technical malfunction could not be fixed prior to the ship's October 3 voyage from Piraeus (Athens), so the line canceled the October 3 cruise.

The ship will remain at the dock in Greece as a hotel for guests while the line makes arrangements to fly all guests back to their city of origin.

Regent said in a press statement that it hopes to get all guests home by October 6, but that complimentary hotel accommodations in Athens will be arranged for guests who are not en route home by that date.

The ship's services remain fully functional, the line said, adding that it is offering tours in and around Athens for guests.

On October 6, Seven Seas Voyager will depart Athens for Genoa, Italy. Once there, the ship will enter drydock for an assessment of the pod so repairs can begin.

The line's statement said it "regrets any inconvenience and disappointment this has caused for our valued guests and travel partners."

Regent said further updates will be made once the technical team has begun its assessment and a timetable can be established for repairs.
