Barcelona to Monte Carlo Cruise Sails October 12, 2008

Seattle, February 19, 2008 – Windstar Cruises, which operates a three-ship fleet of luxury yachts that explore hidden harbors and secluded coves of the world’s most treasured destinations, announces a special Barcelona to Monte Carlo voyage hosted by Joe Ueberroth, Chairman, CEO and President of Windstar’s parent company, Ambassadors International, Inc.

“We are very pleased to offer our guests, and fellow sailing enthusiasts, this opportunity to join Mr. Ueberroth on this exceptional cruise,” said Diane Moore, Executive Vice President, Windstar Cruises.

Guests can join Mr. Ueberroth and his wife, Polly, for a week-long sailing aboard the Wind Surf exploring the legends and romance of some of the most sought after settings in the world. During the cruise, Mr. Ueberroth will hold an old-fashioned "town hall meeting" and will host a cocktail party for guests.

Under Mr. Ueberroth’s leadership, Ambassadors International has become a leader in the cruise industry with a passion for small-ship cruising. Mr. Ueberroth grew up in a travel family. Although his father, Peter Ueberroth, is known for being the President of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee as well as the sixth Commissioner of Major League Baseball, he started his career by building travel companies such as First Travel, Ask Mr. Foster and Colony Hotels.  Joe and his father are known for their involvements, over the past two decades, in leisure companies such as Bellport Group, Doubletree Hotels,, Grand Prix Tours, the Pebble Beach Company, and People to People Student Programs. 

The Ueberroth’s reside in Corona Del Mar, California with their three sons.  With a commitment to improving the lives of children and helping to enrich their local community, the Ueberroth’s have served on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Orange County, Orangewood Children's Foundation of Orange County, the Science Discovery Center, Sheriff's Advisory Council, and the Orange County Museum of the Arts.

Wind Surf accommodates 312 guests and offers luxurious suites and staterooms which include lush bedding, L’Occitane bath amenities, Egyptian cotton towels, flatscreen TVs, DVD/CD players, Bose SoundDock speakers and Apple iPod Nanos pre-loaded with music for check out.  Culinary wonders abound in each of Wind Surf’s five restaurants, with live music in the Lounge, 5-star cuisine in The Restaurant and cocktails in the Terrace Bar. Wind Surf also offers relaxing spa treatments and exciting shore excursions.
