Frank, Queen Mary 2 had to abort her first attempt to enter the port.
A passing storm delayed her around 5 hours.
She sat it out  well offshore and thought it was OK around 13.00 local, but clearly the Captain said "no way Jose" at the last moment and went around again.

I have some captures, need to sort and not duplicate yours.

Peter.

Thanks Peter.   I thought QM2 hired Jack Daniels as First Mate.  ;)   We got lucky today, no ship parked in front...

Frank I had been watching from before day break as the harbour web site changed the arrival time every hour yesterday due to this passing storm, as they referred to it as.
Looking at QM 2 webcam at first light yes it was rough, plenty of white caps but hard to judge the wind effect which may have been the major factor for a ship of that size.
She original was due to berth around 07.00 am.

She took her chance and safety came first, try another run in.

As for Jack Daniels, think that was the order once lines were in place, job well done chaps.
Also maybe a clean pair of pants for the Master and senior bridge team, brown never looks quite the correct colour :o ;D rofl
