QE2’s Farewell to America Celebration

* FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums performance salutes QE2 from the Battery Park City Promenade (State and Pearl Streets).
* FDNY Fireboats and the U.S. Coast Guard will escort QE2 and Queen Mary 2 during sail away, along with a flotilla of pleasure craft.

* QE2 and Queen Mary 2 to meet for a Cunard Royal RendezvousTM at The Statue of Liberty before embarking on a tandem crossing to Southampton, marking QE2's 806th and final Transatlantic voyage.

Thanks for finding this information, especially containing the links, Phil.
I mistakenly thought I had missed the `end of the QE2` a long while back when busy at work and totally out of touch with relax time.
Be great to save some views as mementoes of this occasion.

On the tandem crossing and a few hours before arriving in NY, this is QM2 in the distance, from QE2.
